Text. Email. Cell phone. Social media. And, very occasionally, an actual phone call or face-to-face conversation. Today’s constant stream of communication takes a myriad of forms—creating a myriad of opportunities to either be helpful or cause harm. Fundamentally, it's not just what you say, it's how you say it, and so it is important to be aware and to be intentional.

In this afternoon teaching, we will:

  • Explore ways to slow down, so we can communicate with intention and precision

  • Learn to truly listen, being present with and focusing on the person in front of you

  • Discuss some helpful Buddhist teachings

  • Understand how to work with strong emotions that can be derail communications

  • Practice meditations that help focus on being in the moment

Discover how to be mindful of your true purpose and how to communicate it through tone, body language and word choice without causing unintended negative consequences. Your relationships will thank you.

$35, includes teaching and guided meditation. Tea and cookies afterwards.
