RESPONDING TO

CORONAVIRUS

EXTRAORDINARY TIMES REQUIRE EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES.

THESE ARE EXTRAORDINARY TIMES.

As a Center dedicated to wellbeing, your health, is, of course, our primary concern. Although we have had no incidents of coronavirus (COVID-19) within our community, we are following New York State recommendations to close the campus to outside visitors. We are closely monitoring the  situation, and carefully following all official recommendations.

This is a nurturing space, and we ask your help in caring for the health of our entire community—starting with yourself.

STEPS WE ARE TAKING

We are proactively working to keep our environment safe.

  • Following official guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and the New York State Department of Health
  • Daily sanitizing doorknobs, light switches and other commonly touched surfaces using approved anti-virus/bacterial cleaners
  • Using this opportunity to conduct in-depth cleaning of residence halls and common areas
  • Actively asking volunteers and staff to follow the guidelines issued by public health authorities, including staying home when ill or after possible coronavirus exposure

STEPS FOR YOU TO TAKE

Person-to-person spread of COVID-19 appears to occur mainly by respiratory transmission. Good hygiene practices can help prevent transmission.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or hand sanitizer for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in any public space and before eating or preparing food
  • Wearing a mask when out of the house
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Practice social distancing, keeping a 6' space between you and others

CANCELLATIONS

At this time,we are closed to all guests in accordance with New York State recommendations.

We have rescheduled many of our spring programs to fall slots; we plan to resume our programs in July. However, we understand that even then some guests, teachers, and renters may choose to cancel reservations due to their own illness or concerns about travel. We will do our best to work with each person and group to find the optimal solution.

Dharmakaya Center Programs

  • Should you not be able to attend a program for any reason, we will issue credit to be used within the following 12 months.
  • Should we need to cancel a program, we will do our best to reschedule it within the next 12 months. If you are unable to attend the new date, we will refund your money.

Rental Programs

  • Should a renter need to cancel a program, we will work to find a mutually agreeable time to reschedule within the next 12 months.
  • Each renter may determine their own cancellation policy for their retreatants.

Please consider the financial health of the Dharmakaya Center for Wellbeing and the revenue we need to support our campus, our staff, and our programs. If you wish to waive your refund and have it applied as a tax-deductible donation, we would be extremely grateful.
